have you seen this blog?

a blog of thank you's.
fantastic.

my mom always told me to write thank you's, also.
i need to get better about that again.
if i owe you a thank you, thank you.
and i am sorry it is a little late...

here's to more hand written little notes.

why...

do my posts jump around sometimes when i try to post edit them?
and other times they stay right where they are supposed to?
sometimes blogger makes me nuts...

still a lovely day for a picnic?

i love this idea for a picnic club.
i especially love the idea of making buttons.
that would definitely be my first order of business.
so, who wants to join?
we could be the phoenix division and there could be one in every city...
who's with me?!!

these are pictures i took for a "project" i am working on with bev and christine.
what do you think?

happy no. 3, mr. finn.

so, i wanted to do a pancake party.
finn wanted peter pan.
thus, we came up with this happy compromise...
a peter PANcake party

who knew you could find so much inspiration simply by googling "peter pan party" (thank you, mer mag!)  and the poppers were a perfect alternative to a pinata - shake it open for your own little "pinata" experience.

and because i am a little (a lot) obsessed with photobooths, i decided to throw one together like we did for lucy's birthday.  and baabee even made some talking bubbles with quotes from peter pan for the kids to hold (to order your own go to baabeecandoit.com... just kidding, this isn't a real website.  but it should be - for all your family feud and talking bubble needs.).

(finn is telling jack, "i got a crocodile!" - tippy top of his birthday wishlist)
(i apologize for jack's nasty knee in the above two pictures).
(love the above reaction... even if he does have drunk, allergy eyes)
(loved the comment about the boat, "and a string, so i can pull it."  which he does.  all over the house.)

that night we had family over for a few more of finn's favorites - chips and queso and darth vader.
good, good times.

(and he got the lincoln logs he asked for, which were just after crocodile on his list)

i'd say it was a mighty fine day for a three year old.

happy birthday, sweet finn.
when did you get so old...

what do you think?

would you like to eat happiness?

strawberry rhubarb french toast (a palatte summer specialty) is hands down the best sweet breakfast you will ever have the good fortune to eat.
and christine is so graciously sharing the recipe with you.

you should head over and thank her.

my mother's day

it was very lovely.
i woke up to my favorite coffee delivered by lucy with the instructions that i stay in bed and did i "need anything else?"  i asked her to find me a magazine with a lady holding a plate of food on the cover, to which she replied, "lady.  plate of food.  ok."  and quickly returned with just such a magazine.
when i did get up, there was a new light hanging over my kitchen table and some particularly lovely handmade gifts and cards.  (as well as a delicious selection of muffins).

my sweet family also got me these...

with plans for something like this...

pete went on to spend the rest of the day doing all the laundry and ironing, as i lounged about doing little of anything.
what a very lucky girl i am indeed.
i love my little family so much and it is, after all, thanks to them, that i am a mother.
i feel ever so blessed.

mother's day

happy mother's day to the very best mom there ever was...

(i'm the baby in that tummy)
(how about that JPII shirt i'm sporting?  pretty cool, eh?)
(do we scream early 90's or what?)

and, of course, a very happy mother's day to my other moms as well...

i love you all so very much.
