what's up, doc?

finn and lucy have been desperate for me to buy carrots with the long greens hanging off the ends, so that they can chomp on them and say, "what's up, doc?" to one another.  which would be followed, i am sure, by insane laughter.  at the downtown market last week, finn had a hard time keeping his hands off the fresh produce.  unfortunately, we had just bought a bag of baby carrots from trader joe's and the fancy "bugs bunny" carrots were not being sold individually, so we passed.  one of these days, they will get those dreamy carrots...

on a different note, lucy's sense of "fashion" (if you can call it that) never ceases to amaze me.  mind you, i am the one who allows her out of the house like this, so obviously i am not easily embarrassed, but some of the ensembles she comes up with certainly keep me giggling... especially when i notice other people giggling at her.  on this particular day, she chose jack's red small paul shirt which features julius the monkey wearing a wrestling mask, a purple tutu-type skirt, brown and white polka-dot leggings, pink knee-high socks with little hearts all over them and her brown boots.  it was pretty awesome, to say the least.

and, lastly, i am thinking of asking pete to attempt to make me a light like the ones at the market (notice the coffee one in the background above) to hang over our kitchen table.  any thoughts?  color?

yet another way Lucy reminds me of Therese... although Therese has mostly outgrown that wacky fashion sense.
