our new year's eve

this year for new year's eve we decided to celebrate with the kids (and by this, i mean actual celebrate it.  we have never been big on going out for new years.  we usually watch a movie with the kids, then put them to bed and watch a movie ourselves without much discussion of the coming new year...  yeah, we've been a little lame in the past).  we went to mass, out for pizza with the mcmahons and then home for an intense game of disney scene-it (finn and i were champs) and to celebrate the dropping of the ball with all the new yorkers (at 10:00 our time instead of midnight... so, we're still a little lame, i guess...).  the kids spent the day making hats with way too much glitter (jon bird's worst nightmare...  there was literally glitter everywhere...  and actually still is) and practicing blowing the ever-so-pleasant-sounding horns i bought them.  it was a lovely way to ring in the new year with the people i love most...

*looking at these pictures, i realize it is definitely haircut time at our house... and these are about two weeks old...  dare i post a picture of pete...

dessert on the couch while watching disney scene-it...  it doesn't get much better than that.

i decided to add this picture to the end not only to show off pete's luscious locks, but also to document lucy's wink.  as pete says, she winks with her whole face.  it makes me laugh every time...

so, as noted earlier, we are in need of some major haircuts for the burch men in our house...  and somehow i still think pete is the cutest boy i have ever seen...  greasy, nasty hair and all.  what's wrong with me?
