oh, lucy...

this is how i find lucy at some point during almost everyday...

she can just lay around for hours drawing, writing, coloring and creating, all the while singing and talking to herself in her own little world. and, apparently, in this little world of hers, they often times have a different way of saying things. pete likes to call them "lucy-isms" (did i already tell the story about how she was telling everyone that g.g. took jack unicorn (uniform) shopping last year for kindergarden? i will need to check my archives...) a while back lucy was reading with pete and for each word she would sound out, she would make an association. "m-a-t. mat. like mat fornton!" "sure," pete would reply. next word. "s-u-m-s. sums. like i have two sums!" (holding up her thumbs). "no. no, not at all," pete broke it to her.
then, this weekend, she found a shiny penny in the driveway and was so excited to show everyone. "look at my shiny penny! with abe and ham lincoln on it!" (ham was the lesser known of the lincoln brothers...).
so, i am thinking we might need to start giving her a little help in the speech department before next year...

yes, i need my rug cleaned.
and yes, there will be an upcoming post entitled "oh, jack..."

i love those pics you took! something that would be fun to frame in some old rectangular wooden frames painted in pepto pink. dont know why that flew into my brain but it did.
