movie night

it all started with this...

we have had this roll of tickets at our house for about two years (left over from a magic show featuring emily, bridget and martin, i think...) and no matter how many we use and how many new games my kids think up with them, they seem to miraculously multiply. it is, in fact, a never ending roll of tickets. then i bought these popcorn bags at smart and final for lucy's birthday (they were $10 for 1,000. i am not kidding, i have a box of ONE THOUSAND popcorn bags... that's $10 well spent in my book. however, if you would like to have a fun popcorn night with your kids, please stop by and grab a stack...). thus, my kids wanted to have a movie night (i even thought having a movie morning would be fun... exciting indoor activity while it is so hot, let the kids stay in jammies and eat candy in the morning... sounds like a good time to me... since our cousins are already back in school though, we went with the night. do i ramble too much?).

and the concession stand was beautiful. who wouldn't want to go to a theater that served homemade whoopie pies? (thanks, aunt mary!) i say we all pool our money and open an artsy movie theater downtown and instead of a concession stand, we have a bar and a bakery with delicious coffee. now that is a theater i would go to...

another summer night well spent.

those homemade ice cream sandwiches made my mouth water. yummy!!
p.s. i think you should now invest in a movie theater type popcorn popper, you'd get rid of those bags in no time.
