my funny little lucy...

my kids have been really into playing the game slug bug lately (with no actual slugging, of course).  this has introduced lucy to the word convertible... kind of.  jack is very serious about this game (surprise, surprise) and his set rules are that you must say, "slug bug, color, convertible, old school" (the last two, obviously, only if they apply).  lucy, however, has come to think that a car with a retractable roof is not a convertible, but rather an "incredible."  so when she plays slug bug, you will hear her call, "slug bug, red, incredible."  oh, sweet lucy.

last week we bought pink sparkling lemonade, which immediately caught lucy's attention when she opened the fridge the next day.  "what's that?"  "pink sparkling lemonade."  "what else do we have to drink?"  after i list off all other options, she thinks for a minute and then says, "i'll just try the pink glittery lemonade."

the other day we were sitting in the kitchen eating lunch and lucy announced, "i can talk without anyone hearing me."    huh?  show us.  so, with her lips tight together and her eyes moving around the room and a little smile slowly coming over her, she said, "i'm saying something... *hehehe*"  "are you talking in your head?"  "uh-huh!  and nobody can hear me!"  apparently she just discovered the idea of talking inside your own head and she thinks its hysterical.  she loves to demonstrate it whenever you ask.  and she gets an even bigger giggle out of it than anyone.  i hope this doesn't mean she is going to stop talking to herself out loud all the time...

although i only owned my "slug bug, blue, convertible, new school" for the first few years of abraham's life, he still calls ALL bugs (old school, new school, convertible, or hard top) "auntie bucky cars" and i think it is very exciting.
pink glittery lemonade sounds amazing.
