happy memorial day!

i thought this was kind of interesting about the origin of memorial day...

i hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing memorial day. we took our kids to see the movie earth. i definitely recommend it. i love that sort of thing and i thought it was beautifully done. (there are a few harsh realities of predator and prey, so beware for sensitive kids... a kid in our theater did start to cry at one point...). jack loved it ever so much. he had wide eyes and gaping mouth for at least half the movie, gasped out loud several times, and was super upset when it was over and wanted to know if there was another one or if we could see that one again (its safe to say we will definitely be seeing this next year). he was genuinely and completely fascinated. finn was very excited about his first movie theater experience and sat still and quiet with wide eyes. he laughed at the previews and ate popcorn. however, about one minute into the movie, out of the corner of my eye, i saw him just keel over onto lucy... completely passed out. the excitement must have been too much for him. luckily, he only slept for about 20 minutes and then woke up and watched the rest of the movie. he sat on my lap without moving and occasionally whispered the name of the animal onscreen. he hasn't stopped talking about the movie since, "i like the part when the polar bear tries to get the walrus." and he came home and played with all of our animals and begged to sleep with the polar bear. then there was lucy. sweet, lucy. she seemed more interested in the popcorn and m&m's. when those were done, she was pretty much ready to go home. oh, well. 2 out of 3 isn't bad...
as an added bonus, my kids thought it was thrilling that the narrator was darth vader's voice...

Did you just happen to find a moment picture that had the name woods right in the front or did you search for it. Either way it is a cool picture.
