meal menus for indecisive eaters

jack is this crazy indecisive eater.  you would think every morning he was faced with the dilemma "this is the last meal you will ever eat, what will you have?"  each and every morning jack wants a little bit of everything.  "can i haaave... half a bagel, but cut in half with plain cream cheese on one side and strawberry cream cheese on the other... then some eggs... and maybe a piece of jelly toast... and what kind of fruit do we have? (i list half a dozen different kinds)... ok, can i have a little of all of those... and then if i am still hungry i will just have some yogurt."
then there is lucy.  lucy wants yogurt, every single day.  yogurt and granola.  which is great and fine... until i make something different for jack.  i will even say to her, "i am making jack eggs.  are you sure you don't want eggs?"  "no, just yogrit and ganola."  jack's eggs barely hit the table when lucy says, "actually... i think i want some eggs..."
one day something wonderful happened.  my wonderful sister-in-law, sara, told me about how they have a daily breakfast menu. every monday the same food is served.  every tuesday the same food is served.  and so on.  brilliant.  i suggested this idea to my kids and they loved it.  they helped me pick out on which days we would serve what and we made a nice little list (jack's suggestion, of course) with some stamps to hang on our fridge.

we left saturday and sunday open for whatever whims we might have on the weekend, so i occasionally still get a huge, made-to-order request from jack.  this was his very specific request this weekend... i talked him out of the eggs...

you have to admit, though.  it does look good...

now, if only i could get organized enough to be like mrs. deacon and have a set meal for dinners... oh, to be that organized...
