block party

happy st. patrick's day!

we were successful in closing down the cul-de-sac for the calle redonda st. patrick's day block party....

although the bar i (pete) built was meant to be temporary, i am stalling in taking it down because i am hoping to open up for happy hour next week....i just need a golden tee machine. not sure if you can see the bar in any of the pictures, but it was awesome.

and instead of telling any stories, i will just give the top 5 and let others imagine what happened and hopefully start some crazy rumors:

5. luke not only had green teeth from the green beer, but he called me the next day very excited to confirm that other stuff turned out green as well
4. finn got his hands on a green cookie and after sucking the life out of it, he drooled green goo all over the place
3. baabee sang "courtin' in the kitchen" again....and again he choked and forgot the last verse.....
2. we tapped the second keg only to allow a neighborhood mom to finish of the night with two keg stands
1.  lucy decided to make no effort to make it to the bathroom and just dropped her drawers and let it rip in the neighbors yard
.....oh, and work was really fun the next day.....next year we are doing it on saturday

flashback - october 2006

as expected i am having trouble uploading any longer videos, so i am trying another short one (although significantly longer than the last - 36 seconds this time, oooh).   hope it works.

huh, what da heck?

so, this is just my first attempt to post a video.  it is very short and was taken on my dad's little digital camera while i was holding finn, so it is pretty shakey and i missed the beginning, but you get the idea.  i figure it is a practice run, so it is good to start small.  lucy started (of her own accord) saying "huh, what da heck?" and making this ridiculous face when jack was trying to explain the lion, the witch and the wardrobe to her.  jack and i laughed so hard that it stuck.

first posting

before i set some ground rules to this blog, i need to vent (because isn't that the point of blogs). this is my first ever posting, and i feel kind of gay, dorky, witty, and cocky (not because of the blog, i just always feel cocky).  in any event, here are the rules:

1. i started this in an effort to share more information with my family and friends (which if you are either, you should be honored.....if you are unsure if you are in the latter category, you probably aren't).  the information i intend to share is not normal every day events - you will not see any stories of my weekend weeding, and if you do, please point and laugh at me next time you see me.  the information will be mostly kid stories that turn into random thoughts that come into my head, usually after a couple glasses of scotch.....for example, i think diaper genies are overrated.  either just take them out to the garbage or deal with the occasional stink and take a few out to the garbage at one time, but don't buy some crap "genie" that pretends to hide the smell but really just traps it momentarily and then releases it tenfold.

2. i love parentheses, dashes, and three periods and i will use them often...deal with it

3. to expand on #1, the information is mostly for my kids since i don't keep a journal.  and because i actually think this is fun, if i ever die (which is unlikely), my kids will at least have this blog to always remember how unbelievably funny i am

4. i don't delete stuff.....if i write it, it stays....hence the reason i expanded on #1 in #3 instead of just going back and deleting #2 and writing it there

5. i am really funny....if you don't think so, i don't care, because i make myself laugh

6. capital letters are for suckers...except when showing respect, which in my book is only for country and God
